Update 1.18.1

Hey everyone!

Update 1.18.1 is now live. This patch focuses on stability, save reliability, display fixes, Steam Deck improvements, and a handful of issues reported by players.

Thanks to everyone who sent in logs and bug reports. They helped us track down some stubborn issues.

Saves, Inventory & Collectibles

• Fixed the held-item counter on the HUD showing the wrong number of items, including cases where it showed zero dots while you were still holding something.
• Fixed items occasionally being dropped from your inventory when moving between areas.
• Inventory now stays in sync every time you change scenes.
• Hardened the save system so one error can no longer prevent inventory, action figures, or progress from saving to disk.
• Fixed a crash when entering the apartment that could prevent collectibles, such as the jukebox and flatscreen TV, from appearing.
• Fixed cases where players could load into the wrong spot after certain transitions, such as the apartment kitchen.

Display & Resolution

• The resolution selector now properly changes your resolution.
• Fixed an issue where changing resolution in the default fullscreen mode had no visible effect for many players.
• The resolution list is now built from your actual monitor, so you should only see modes your display supports.
• Added support for missing common resolutions, including ultrawide resolutions like 3440x1440.
• Fixed the game saving your monitor's resolution instead of the resolution the game was actually running at.
• Fixed one resolution list entry applying the wrong resolution.

Steam Deck

• Removed the forced 1280x800 resolution lock.
• Your selected resolution is now respected, including higher resolutions when docked to a TV or monitor.
• Added proper default control layouts for Steam Deck.

Controls

• Reworked key rebinding.
• Custom keybinds now save and persist between sessions.
• Custom keybinds are now applied consistently across the game.

Performance & Stability

• Fixed several internal errors that were firing every frame.
• Reduced heavy log spam that could hurt frame rate.
• Players affected by these errors should see improved smoothness.
• Added additional crash and error hardening across scene loading.

Apartment & Miscellaneous

• Fixed the apartment TV not switching correctly between CRT and flatscreen modes.
